Amber Schultz – MA, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I understand that the decision to participate in therapy can be uncomfortable and daunting for many people, so creating a genuine client-therapist relationship and a safe space is a priority of mine. I strive to make the therapeutic process as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. I view therapy as a collaborative process that is founded on the individual’s strengths and goals and respect that each client is unique in their experiences and situations.

I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults, clients who are struggling to find purpose or direction, and challenging and changing negative thoughts and behaviors. Primarily using a holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach, I bring my knowledge and training into the session, just as the client brings their life experiences with them. I passionately believe that you are the expert on your own life. I meet each client where they are on their journey and empower them to be their authentic selves, finding their worth and direction, and living life to its fullest.

As a counselor, I admire the courage it takes to ask for help and face change. Therapy can be a highly rewarding journey, and I most enjoy bearing witness to and being a part of each client’s growth.

Outside of the office, I love traveling and exploring new restaurants around the city. I most enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my dog (Brizzy).
