My work focuses on mental health therapy for adolescents and adults, starting about age 13 and older. My primary focuses are mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, and personality disorders. I use a range of clinical approaches in my practice, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-focused care of ARC, and solution-focused treatment. In the session, we will work on past and present struggles set attainable goals to address, learn to recognize patterns in mood and behavior, and learn new coping strategies.
I want to help people reach their fullest potential. I am interested in mental health and the complexities of the human mind. Some of my interest comes from personal experience with mental health issues; I believe it gives me an insight that helps in my practice.
I studied at the University of Iowa and Florida State University, with a focus on social work. Since completing school, I have worked as a therapist for a partial hospitalization program running groups and individual therapy sessions, and as an individual and family therapist.
