
Joshua R. Carey - MBA, M.S., QMHP, CWEL/CERAP Licensed
Joshua has worked in the mental health field for the last 2 ½ years with children (4-12), adolescents (13-18), young adults (19-24), adults, and families. He has facilitated groups for DUI clients previously with Nicasa Behavioral Health Services, along with running a Residential Treatment Autism unit as a Program Manager/Director for The Allendale Association. He supports first responders and assists the Waukegan Police Department with anyone locally who is having mental health breakdowns. Joshua also focuses his time and energy working with women who have been assaulted, raped, and abused and working with them on their moods and emotions and road to internal healing and life coping skills.
Joshua also works for Lake Behavioral Hospital in Waukegan, IL as an Assessment and Referrals Clinician working with individuals and families who are experiencing mental health crises. Joshua works with several hospitals throughout the state that has crisis calls and helps to get their patients transferred over to the behavioral hospital in order to help them work/cope with their behaviors and emotions.
Joshua has earned his Master’s of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Arizona Global Campus (aka Ashford University), in addition to a Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona. Joshua is currently finishing up his Master’s of Social Work at Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois, and is expected to graduate in August 2023 as a Licensed Social Worker.
As a Qualified Mental Health Professional, Joshua also has worked in case management for residential treatment centers and is a DCFS-licensed caseworker. Joshua believes therapy is a joint effort between therapist and client. He has a proven track record of success as a Qualified Mental Health Professional Counselor, and as a therapist, he is committed to providing his clients the best care possible. In his spare time, Joshua spends time with his children, and enjoys cooking, building computers, and watching movies.
