Lisa S. Block – MS, LCPC,  NCC, CATP, CAGCS

When In times of unusual stress or upheaval, we are not meant to go it alone. I am here to partner with you on your journey. Through the therapeutic process, I aim to support you by providing a safe place to work on challenges, seek solutions and achieve goals.

I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults of all ages. This includes serving: individuals, couples, families, and groups.

My counseling career began in the school setting. I acquired experience in residential care, the emergency room, and hospital inpatient and intensive outpatient settings. I volunteered for a sexual violence prevention organization, honoring the experiences of survivors of abuse. In the schools, I facilitated parents’ understanding of their children’s behaviors; and advocated in 504 Plans and IEP meetings.

As a trauma specialist and Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, I am privileged to help veterans, health care providers, first responders, and survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, youth, and others dealing with grief, loss, and post-traumatic stress. Additionally, I support clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.

I teach coping strategies to provide ways to feel less stressed and more empowered. In using a strengths-based approach, together we move through difficult experiences and build resiliency.

As your partner, I hope to help you tell your story, find meaning and envision a brighter future.

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

– Viktor E. Frankl
