Photini Sikaras - MS, LCPC, NCC, CTMH

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Professional School Counselor, who is passionate about helping my clients grow and live full and meaningful lives.  I have dedicated the last 13 years of my life to serving adolescents and young adults.  By creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing climate, and by building trusting and meaningful relationships, my clients know they are working with a counselor that cares deeply about their well-being.  I help my clients to feel seen, validated, and heal emotionally, on their journey to becoming their best selves.  I approach each client with empathy, genuineness, and compassion and provide a safe space where they can be heard without judgment.  I believe it is the relationships I have built and the growth my students have made that led to me being named the 2018 Middle School/Junior High Illinois Counselor of the Year by the Illinois School Counselor Association.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, in a life transition, struggling with relationships, emotions, school, or feeling hopeless, there is hope.  I can help you through your emotional pain, develop healthy coping skills, and focus on your strengths to feel empowered from within to live a positive and fulfilling life.

I use an eclectic treatment approach, which allows me to use the most effective research-based interventions available, tailored to your individual needs.  I have pursued additional training in evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Mindfulness.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults and have worked significantly with the Latino population over the course of my career.

It would be an honor to serve you, and I look forward to our journey together.
