Michael Albert – LCPC

Throughout my more than 20 years of experience of providing mental health care to adults, adolescents, and children, I have come to believe that the best therapies work to equip clients with additional tools to work through more challenging periods in life, and better manage the stressors of living.  As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of outpatient, residential and hospital settings throughout my career.

I specialize in a strengths-based, flexible application of cognitive (CBT) and dialectic (DBT) behavioral therapies to assist the client in developing a sense of inner peace and personal balance.  The process of seeking help can be intimidating but through the mutual collaboration and development of achievable goals, the results can help develop that “still point in a spinning world.”  Ultimately, throughout my experiences, I have learned that recovery and progress occur through practice, and not in the time when a person is in their therapist’s office.

While I have worked with clients throughout the lifespan, I have a passion for working with adolescents and young adults.  This time in life has grown ever more complicated with the pressure of peer relationships, healthy identity development, social media, as well as pressures to engage success as a student, and as an emerging adult.

I look forward to the honor of working with you to achieve your personal goals for therapy.  When not at work, I can be found volunteering in my children’s classroom or coaching youth soccer.
